Alcoholic femoral head necrosis

Alcoholic femoral head necrosis is a type of femoral head necrosis caused by heavy drinking. In patients with alcoholism, the incidence of femoral head necrosis is significantly higher than in the general population. There are significantly more men than women. Alcohol abuse (excessive drinking) intake is a cause of femoral head necrosis, which has been proven, that is, the occurrence or absence of femoral head necrosis is related to the amount of alcohol consumed and the number of years of drinking. Men who have been drinking alcohol for more than 10 years are more susceptible to femoral head necrosis, which is 50% higher than normal people.
