Pigmented paravenous retinal choroidal atrophy

Pigmented paravenous retinochoroidal atrophy is a rare fundus disease. First reported by Brown in 1837, with different disease names. Named by Franceschetti as paravenous pigmented choroidal retinal degeneration. The current name was named by Nobley in 1983 and has been widely adopted. In recent years, there have been several reports in China. The etiology and pathogenesis of the disease are unknown. Some speculate that it may be a special retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) degeneration and secondary choroidal degeneration that occur on an innate basis. .
