Disseminated intravascular coagulation in children

Disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) is also known as wasting coagulopathy or defibrillator syndrome. It is a complex pathophysiological phenomenon, with disseminated microvascular thrombosis, causing microcirculation disorders, causing a variety of tissue and organ dysfunction, wasting coagulopathy and secondary fibrinolysis, and the tendency to shock and bleeding main feature. Seegers first introduced the concept in the United States in 1950.
