Ketone body

Ketone body is the collective name of acetoacetic acid, hydroxybutyric acid and acetone. It is an intermediate metabolite produced by the human body using fatty oxides. Ketone bodies produced by normal people are quickly used and the content of ketone bodies is very small, about 2.0-4.0 mg / L, of which acetic acid hydroxybutyrate and acetone accounted for about 20%, 78%, and 2%. Ketone body (calculated as acetone) in urine is about 50mg / 24h. Qualitative tests were negative. However, when hunger, impaired glucose metabolism due to various reasons, increased lipolysis, and diabetic acidosis, ketonemia can occur due to the rate of ketone body production faster than the rate of tissue utilization, followed by ketonuria (KET).
