Activated partial thromboplastin time

The activated partial thromboplastin time is currently a more sensitive test used to screen whether the endogenous coagulation system is normal. Simultaneous detection with the prothrombin time is currently the main screening test combination for secondary hemostatic defects. This test is mainly used for the detection of coagulation factor deficiency in the endogenous coagulation system, laboratory monitoring during heparin anticoagulation therapy, and detection of lupus anticoagulants.
