Urine HCG

The main test substance for pregnancy tests is human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG). The urine of healthy people does not contain or contains a very small amount of HCG (generally no higher than 10IU / L). After pregnancy, the HCG content will continue to increase. It will be about 25 IU / L by 7-8 days of pregnancy, about 50 IU / L by 10 days of pregnancy, and reach the peak of HCG content by 2 months, about 200 IU / L. Gradually decreased. Among the currently available pregnancy diagnostic reagents on the market, the minimum content of HCG in urine can be determined to be 25IU / L. Therefore, if HCG can be detected in clinical pregnancy diagnosis, it is considered pregnant. Urine pregnancy tests commonly used in recent years include the latex agglutination method, the double-antibody sandwich enzyme immunoassay method, and the immune gold sol spot filtration method.
