Uric acid

Fresh urine is mostly weakly acidic, and changes in urine pH can be affected by disease medication and diet. However, after the urine is left for a long time, the acidic urine can have an alkaline reaction due to the decomposition of urea by the bacteria. The determination of urine pH can also be used as an indicator for controlling medication.
