Prostate specific acid phosphatase

Prostatic acid phosphatase (PAP) is an acid phosphatase isoenzyme produced by lysosomes of prostate epithelial cells. It is a glycoprotein composed of two identical subunits with a molecular weight of 100kD, etc. The electrical point is 4.4 to 5.5, and the half-life is 1.1 to 2.6 hours. The acid phosphatase in male serum is mainly derived from the prostate, while the acid phosphatase activity in prostate tissue is 1000 times higher than in other tissues.
