Amniotic fluid osmotic pressure
After the second trimester, fetal urine is discharged into the amniotic cavity, which gradually reduces the osmotic pressure of the amniotic fluid. A decrease in the amniotic fluid osmotic pressure indicates that the fetus is gradually mature.
