1. Comminuted fracture of the orbital vertebrae, or unstable old fractures, and irreducible dislocation of the orbital joint 2. Central-vertebral tuberculosis, rheumatoid arthritis cause inter-vertebral instability. 3. Congenital upper cervical spine deformity, pain or neurological symptoms.
