The pathological changes of anal canal injury vary with the degree of injury, the nature of the injury and the method of action, location, scope, time, and presence or absence of other organ injuries. The light ones are only mucosal tears and myofascial dehiscence, and the heavy ones include full-thickness intestinal wall rupture and extensive sphincter injury or even transection.
