Cardiophilic virus infection

Viral myocarditis refers to human infection with cardiophilic viruses, causing non-specific interstitial inflammation of the myocardium. It can be localized or diffuse; the course can be acute, subacute, or chronic. Most patients with acute viral myocarditis can completely return to normal, and sudden death rarely occurs. Some chronically developed viral myocarditis can evolve into cardiomyopathy. In some patients, after the myocardial scar is formed obviously, there are sequelae: a certain degree of cardiac enlargement, cardiac dysfunction, arrhythmia, or persistent abnormalities in the electrocardiogram.
