Colon carcinoid

Colonic carcinoid (colic carcinoid) originates from intestinal mucosal glands of argyrophilic Kultschitzky cells, also known as pheochromocytoma. Because its tumor cells originate from the endoderm and are arranged in a nest-like manner, which is pathologically similar to a cancerous morphology, it is called a carcinoid and is a low-grade malignancy.
