Pediatric external hydrocephalus

ExteRNAl hydrocephalus (EH) is a benign, self-healing disease that occurs in infancy. With the development of neuroimaging, some babies with larger skulls were found clinically. CT and MRI examinations of the skull showed that the subarachnoid space was widened on the bilateral forehead or forehead with no or only mild ventricular enlargement. The enlarged subarachnoid space gradually disappears on its own after ~ 3 years of age. This phenomenon is called EH, also known as benign subarachnoid enlargement, benign subdural effusion in infants, obstructive hydrocephalus outside the brain, Hydrocephalus, etc., is pseudo hydrocephalus.
