Neonatal hepatitis B

Hepatitis B is caused by hepatitis B virus infection. Hepatitis virus infection in the neonatal period mainly refers to HBV infection. Neonatal HBV infection is mainly caused by vertical transmission and horizontal transmission from mother to child. Most of them are chronic, often unhealed, becoming chronic carriers or chronic hepatitis, which seriously affects the health of children. Most newborns infected with hepatitis B virus develop chronic subclinical hepatitis, which is manifested by persistent hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) emia and elevated levels of transaminase. The relationship between this disease and chronic liver failure has gradually attracted people's attention. China is a region with a high incidence of hepatitis B virus. It is estimated that about 100 million people nationwide are infected with hepatitis B.
