Hereditary spastic paraplegia

Hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP) was first reported by Seeligmuller (1874) and is a syndrome characterized by progressive lower limb muscle tone, muscle weakness, and scissors gait. The clinical manifestations are mainly slowly progressing spastic paraplegia, and the symptoms are diverse. Most scholars attribute it to the category of hereditary ataxia, which accounts for about 1/4 of the total incidence of the latter.
