Hyponatremia in children

Hyponatremia is also known as hyponatremia syndrome and low salt syndrome. It is a more serious disorder of water-electrolyte metabolism balance, which is mainly due to insufficient sodium or excessive water in the body, resulting in sodium deficiency or dilute low sodium. It is also related to the abnormal secretion of antidiuretic hormone (ADH) and the production of dilute hyponatremia. This symptom refers to a pathological condition caused by a decrease in total sodium in the body. The total exchangeable sodium in the human body is 40 to 45 mmol / kg. Hyponatremia syndrome is often accompanied by hyponatremia, but there are also those with serum sodium. Conversely, although most of the low sodium syndrome is accompanied by a decrease in total sodium in the body, there are also normal or increased ones. Clinically, serum sodium is measured instead of total sodium in the body. Low salt syndrome refers to a decrease in total sodium in the body and is not strictly the same as low sodium syndrome.
