Septic shock in the elderly
Septic shock is caused by microorganisms and their toxins and other products that cause acute microcirculation insufficiency directly or indirectly, leading to tissue hypoxia, cell damage, metabolism and dysfunction, and even critical organ syndrome of multiple organ failure (MOF).
