Small airway function

Small airways are airways with a diameter of 2 mm or less. Before the patient does not have clinical discomfort and normal pulmonary function tests, small airway function measurement may detect early changes, which has positive significance for early detection and early treatment of the disease. Commonly used indicators include maximum expiratory flow (flow rate) -volume curve (ring), equal flow volume and closed volume measurement.
