Alveolar-arterial oxygen partial pressure difference

The alveolar-arterial oxygen partial pressure difference is the difference between the alveolar oxygen partial pressure and the arterial blood oxygen partial pressure. This value can be used as a clinical judgement of pulmonary ventilation function. It is used to judge the ventilation function of the lungs and more sensitively reflects the oxygen uptake of the lungs. Helps understand the progression of lung disease. It can be used as an indication of mechanical ventilation or a reference indicator for withdrawal.
