Luque surgery

Luque surgery uses two l-shaped steel rods, which are fixed on both sides of the lamina with wires under the lamina to fix and correct deformities. It has the advantages of strong fixation and reliable correction of deformities; however, the wire under the lamina may damage the spinal cord. The corrective effect of simple luque surgery for severe scoliosis is not ideal; but the correction of mild scoliosis with kyphosis or lordosis is very good. At present, luque surgery is still applied to the reduction and internal fixation of spine fractures, dislocations, and internal fixation of spinal tumors.
