Neonatal jaundice after breastfeeding

Breastfeeding infants develop jaundice 4-7 days after birth, peaking in 2 to 4 weeks (serum bilirubin can exceed 256.6 to 342.0 μmol / L), generally in good condition, without hemolysis or anemia, jaundice usually lasts 3 to 4 weeks In the second month, it gradually subsides. A few can be extended to 10 weeks before the jaundice is stopped. If breastfeeding is stopped for 3 to 4 days, jaundice is significantly reduced, and bilirubin is reduced by ≥50%. If breastfeeding is used, jaundice may not occur again. Even if it appears, it will not reach its original level.
