Varicella-zoster uveitis

Varicella-zoster virus (VZV) infection can be congenital or acquired. Congenital infections mainly cause eye diseases such as neurological damage, small eyeballs, cataracts, retinal choroiditis, and retinal choroidal scars; acquired infections mainly cause chickenpox in children (primary infections) and mainly cause shingles and Eye diseases (conjunctivitis, keratitis, iridocyclitis, retinitis, retinal necrosis, etc.). The acute retinal necrosis syndrome caused by it has become an important blinding eye disease.
