Pediatric recurrent abdominal pain

Recurrent abdominal pain (RAP) is a symptom diagnosis. It usually refers to recurrent abdominal pain. There are at least three attacks within 3 months. When the attack is severe, it can affect the normal activities of children. During the interval between attacks, it appears normal. The morbidity of the general pediatric population is slightly 10%, and the ratio of male to female is 3: 4. RAP is rare before the age of 4 to 5 years, and occurs most often in children 8 to 10 years old. Girls can have a second peak onset in puberty.
